meet alishia

hey!

One of the most important things you can do when searching for a photographer is making sure you mesh with those you’re considering… share the same vision for your photos, like their editing style, and feel like you can laugh together. Seriously…there’s a lot of laughing that goes on during a shoot, and what good is it if it’s not FUN?? I mean, sure, you may get some awesome photos you love after, but the experience should be enjoyable! So lets get to know each other a little.

Hello! I’m Alishia. I grew up in Marin County so I’m no stranger to how beautiful and unique it is here. Although, my friends do gasp sometimes when they find out about the places I haven’t been. I think when you grow up somewhere you tend to not do the touristy things. For example - I’ve never hopped on a cable car in SF and I’ve never been to the hippie tree in Tiburon. (Wait, scratch that! I have now!) One of the perks of this gig is exploring new places with cool new friends (that’s you!)

I first picked up my camera after my daughter was born. Time was passing WAY too quickly, and if you have kids, you know how it is. You have to capture every new little facial expression, every sneeze and those first steps. That’s what I love - REAL moments. I’m also no stranger to how hard it can be to photograph kids, so don’t fret! Bring on the wiggles! (Your kids, not the kids musical group. But hey, if that will help I’ll pull them up on my phone!) With that said, my daughter is my entire world. She’s the spunkiest little thing you’ll ever meet, along with equal parts shyness and stubbornness sprinkled in.

A few more little fun facts about me -

  1. I’m obsessed with plants. I’m running out of room in my house for them. Every time I drive past Armstrong Garden Center it takes everything I have not to turn in. A big selling point for me when my husband and I purchased our condo recently was the light. It has AWESOME natural light.

  2. I LOVE kombucha. but I’m picky about the brand. GT’s gingerade is my go-to.

  3. My husband and I lived in PA for about 4 years while he went to school. Even though I adore CA, I miss the lush greenery of PA.
